Set up Browser Rules in Chrome and Edge, managed from the admin console.

The extension / Day to day

Enrol in the admin console

Enrol browsers in your admin console to set your own policies and see one audit log. Nothing needs reinstalling.

  1. Create a free account and organisation in the admin console.
  2. Open Browsers, then Enrol browsers, and choose how you manage your computers.
  3. Deploy the file it makes. It sets the enrolmentKey browser policy (and installs the extension, if it isn't already). The admin console's address is built in, so the key is all a browser needs.

Once enrolled, a browser takes its policies from the admin console, including the default policies' on/off switches, and sends its audit events there. Browsers that aren't enrolled yet keep the default policies.

On one computer

To try it, open the extension's settings page, enter the enrolment key from the admin console, and select Connect. A key set by browser policy can't be changed there.

The admin console recognises people by the account signed in to Chrome or Edge. For browsers nobody signs in to, see Name users when browsers aren't signed in.
